The short version.

There are two ways to use the coach. On the free hosted path (the default, no key needed) your answer is sent to our server, which calls Anthropic with our key and streams the feedback back. We do not store your interview answers; they are processed for that one request and discarded. We do set a cookie to count your free answers, use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out, and use Stripe if you buy a pass. On the bring-your-own-key path, your browser talks to Anthropic directly with your key, and that never touches our server. We do not sell your data.

Who we are

This app ("Interview Coach") is operated by KTLYST Labs, based in San Jose, California, USA. You can reach us at crew@ktlystlabs.com.

The two paths, and what each means for your data

Hosted (free, default). Your answer and the running conversation are sent to our server, which calls Anthropic with our own key and streams the coaching back. We process your answer only to generate that response; we do not store your interview answers, and there is no transcript database. To run this fairly we keep a small amount of operational data, described below.

Bring your own key. If you paste your own Anthropic key, your browser sends your messages and key directly to Anthropic, under your own account. On this path your interview content and key never reach our server. We are not in the middle.

What we process on the hosted path

To run the free tier without it being drained by abuse, our server processes: a random usage-counter cookie we set on your device (so we can count your free answers — it is a random id, not your name or email); your IP address and standard request data, used only to rate-limit and prevent abuse; a Cloudflare Turnstile token to check you are not a bot; and aggregate counters (how many answers were served, how many passes sold). We also use first-party product analytics (PostHog) to see which pages and steps visitors use, so we can improve the product. We do not build advertising or cross-site profiles, and we do not store the text of your interview answers.

If you buy a 30-day pass, Stripe processes your payment and the email you give it for the receipt. We receive a confirmation that a pass was paid for, tied to a payment session id (not your card details). See Stripe's privacy policy.

Stored on your device

Your browser keeps your current interview conversation, the role profile and weak spots the coach remembers, and your settings in its own local storage, on your device. On the bring-your-own-key path your Anthropic key is also kept there, on your device only. We also set the usage-counter cookie described above, and a pass cookie if you purchase. You can clear all of this any time from your browser's site-data controls.

Third parties involved

Anthropic generates the coaching (with our key on the hosted path, or your key on the bring-your-own-key path). See anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Vercel hosts the site and serves the hosted endpoint; like any host it processes standard request data such as IP and browser type. Cloudflare provides the Turnstile bot check. Stripe processes payments. Upstash stores the usage counters and pass records. Supabase stores your account (email and login). PostHog provides first-party product analytics (page views and funnel steps). We use these to run and protect the service, not to track or profile you.

Cookies

We use functional cookies only: a usage-counter cookie to count free answers, and a pass cookie if you buy one. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we run no analytics tracker.

Your choices and rights

We do not store your interview answers, and the operational data we do keep (a random usage counter, abuse/rate-limit data, payment confirmations) is minimal and not tied to a profile of you. Clear this site's cookies and storage to reset your device. For a payment record, contact Stripe or us.

We do not and will not sell or share your personal information. If you are a California resident, this is also our notice under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA): the categories we collect are limited to identifiers (a random usage id, IP) and commercial information (a record that a pass was purchased); we do not sell or share personal information. Residents of regions with similar laws (such as the EU/UK GDPR) have the corresponding rights — contact us at crew@ktlystlabs.com to exercise them.

Children

This app is not directed to children and is intended for adults preparing for job interviews.
